Abstract:
This industrial elevator comprises a guide rail, a machine room unit, a car, and a lifting machine. The machine room unit has a frame on which a hoisting machine is mounted. The machine room unit has an emergency stop device for stopping the vertical movement of the machine room unit, and a speed detection device that is installed on the frame and that causes the emergency stop device to operate when the vertical speed of the machine room unit reaches a prescribed speed or higher. In addition, the emergency stop device has a damper that faces the guide rail with a gap therebetween in the normal state in which the emergency stop device is not operating and that is in contact with the guide rail when the emergency stop device is operating.
