Provided is an information acquisition device that can acquire information related to the distance to a target region by using a simple configuration, and that can suppress the impact on an image pickup camera of light projected to the target region in order to acquire information. Also provided is an object detection device having the information acquisition device. An information acquisition device (2) is provided with the following: a projection unit (100) for projecting infrared light; an infrared image pickup unit (200); a distance acquisition unit (21b) for acquiring the distance information of each position on the target region on the basis of a luminance value acquired by the infrared image pickup unit (200); and a visible light image pickup unit (300). The infrared image pickup unit (200) is provided with a visible light removing filter (230) for removing visible light, and the visible light image pickup unit (300) is provided with an infrared light removing filter (330) for removing infrared light. The projection unit (100), infrared image pickup unit (200), and the visible light image pickup unit (300) are disposed so that the visible light image pickup unit (300) is not interposed between the projection unit (100) and the infrared image pickup unit (200).
