Abstract:
The present invention realizes, also at a content copy destination, a usage control configuration substantially similar to the content usage control on a copy source medium. The present invention includes: a data processing unit that copies, onto a second medium, recorded data on a first medium; and a storage unit that stores a correction title key (Kc) required for decrypting an encrypted content recorded on the first medium. The data processing unit records, onto the second medium, the encrypted content recorded on the first medium without performing decryption. The data processing unit determines whether the correction title key (Kc) stored in the storage unit belongs to category A, indicating being acquirable under a condition that authentication is established with a sever, or category B, indicating that establishment of authentication is not defined as a condition, and records, onto the second medium, the correction title key only when the correction title key belongs to category B.
