Abstract:
The present disclosures pertain to an information processing device and method, a distribution system, and a program that are able to absolutely prevent reproduction from low-quality images during reproduction. In the distribution system, which distributes content data from a server to a client using MPEG-DASH, the server determines the state of a band in accordance with the reproduction state in a client of Media Data Frame 0 (RepID video 1) comprising initially transmitted segment data during the start of reproduction of content data, and transmits Media Data Frame 0 comprising segment data comprising high-image-quality encoded data (RepID video 3) to the same partial image, and the client reproduces high-image-quality encoded data transmitted afterwards. The present technology can be applied for example to a distribution system.
