An information processing device capable of easily acquiring information. A database (12) stores EPG information received and the EPG information is read out by a word isolator (31). The word isolator (31) cuts out a word unit from the EPG information read out and supplies it to a registration unit (41). When the word supplied is a predetermined part of speech or word, the registration unit (41) registers it in an associated information file. The associated information file contains a predetermined word related to a program (EPG information) including the word. The word stored in this associated information file is highlighted when the EPG is supplied to a user. The highlighted word is linked and when the word is selected, information on the link destination is supplied to the user. The present invention can be applied to a set top box handling EPG information.
