Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to implement a configuration in which, during a normal operation by a user, fingerprint data is acquired, fingerprint authentication is performed, and process control corresponding to the authentication result is performed. A fingerprint sensor is formed on an operation member which is subjected to a pinching operation by the fingers of a user, for example. Through the pinching operation, the fingerprint sensor, set in a position to contact the fingerprint surfaces of the fingers of the user, acquires the fingerprint data, and a user authentication process based on the acquired fingerprint data is executed. When the pinching operation by the fingers of the user is performed, the fingerprint sensor acquires fingerprint data of two of the user's fingers. The operation member is a door knob for opening/closing a door, for example, and unlocks the door upon successful completion of the authentication process based on the fingerprint data.
