Abstract:

An ink vessel mounting structure includes an ink vessel having storage means for storing predetermined information and an ink vessel mounting section having read means for reading information stored in the storage means. In this structure, the data stored in the storage means is appropriately read out. The ink vessel (1) has a rib (12). The position of the rib (12) is fixed by a groove (45) of an ink vessel mounting section (2), so that a distance between the storage means (20) and the read means (30) in the opposing direction (direction of arrow D) does not exceed a predetermined value. A fixing section (50) fixes the rib (12) in the circumferential direction of the ink vessel (1) and locates the storage means (20) and the read means (30) in the opposing positions.
