Abstract:

Provided are an inkjet printer and an inkjet printing method with which, when an image is formed by inkjet ink on a web-form printing substrate, nozzles for discharging ink do not clog readily, streaks do not form readily and concentration unevenness does not occur readily during paint-out printing, and the concentration of monochrome printed portions increases readily. This inkjet printer for inkjet ink forms images by discharging inkjet ink via a single-pass scheme onto a web-form printing substrate, the inkjet printer including a conveying mechanism that continuously conveys the web-form printing substrate, a plurality of single-pass-scheme inkjet heads that discharge inkjet ink onto the surface of the web-form printing substrate conveyed by the conveying mechanism, and a curing device that cures the inkjet ink discharged onto the surface of the web-form printing substrate, the resolution of the plurality of single-pass-scheme inkjet heads being varied according to the color of the inkjet ink.
