Abstract:
An input method, an apparatus, and a program product. The method comprises: displaying a keyboard layout in a first region of a touch display screen (S301); receiving a touch operation of a user on the touch display screen (S302); and a terminal determining an initial touch position of the touch operation on the touch display screen (S303), wherein if the initial touch position is located in the first region on the touch display screen, an input method corresponding to the keyboard layout is used to respond to the touch operation, and if the initial touch operation is located in a second region of the touch display screen, a handwriting input method is used to respond to the touch operation. The second region is located outside of the first region on the touch display screen. In this way, a user does not have to perform an additional input method switching operation in an input process, but is capable of simply clicking on a keyboard region to start keyboard input or directly touching the second region to start handwriting input, thereby preventing the train of thought of a user from being interrupted, improving user input efficiency, and enhancing user input experience.
