Abstract:
This insert molding method is for molding an article in which a portion of a metal piece is embedded in a resin case, the article being molded by filling a molding space defined by a first mold and a second mold with a resin material. The insert molding method includes: a recess forming step S2 in which a recess is formed in a side surface of the metal piece, the recess being depressed from the side surface; a loading step S3 in which the metal piece is loaded into the first mold such that the recess is positioned outside the molding space; a mold closing step S4 in which the first mold or the second mold is moved in a direction within the plane of the side surface to pinch the metal piece between the first mold and the second mold; and a molding step S5 in which the resin case is molded by filling the molding space enclosed by the first mold and the second mold with the resin material and allowing the resin material to cure.
