An interconnection and intercommunication method for a virtual formation train control system of a heavy-haul railway. The method comprises: determining a switching region between an existing line and a virtual formation line for ground device switching (S1); when a train travels within the range of the switching region, switching a ground device control right (S2); and after the switching of the ground device control right is completed, a ground device of the virtual formation line sends a formation command to an on-board device of the train, and the on-board device performing, according to the formation command, virtual formation on the train corresponding to the on-board device and a train ahead in a formation (S3). The method has the beneficial effects that the switching between signal systems of different standards can be realized without stopping a train, and the operation efficiency of the train can be improved.
