Abstract:
An internal combustion engine system 1 is provided with: an internal combustion engine 2; a supercharger 3 which utilizes exhaust gas G provided from the internal combustion engine 2 and discharges compressed air A1; a reformer 4 which discharges a first compressed air-fuel mixture P1 obtained by means of an exothermic reaction between the compressed air A1 and fuel F2; and a compressed air-fuel mixture generator 6 which discharges a second compressed air-fuel mixture P2 obtained by mixing compressed air A1a and the first compressed air-fuel mixture P1. The compressed air-fuel mixture generator 6 includes: a merging portion 16 which receives the compressed air A1a from the supercharger 3 and receives the first compressed air-fuel mixture P1 from the reformer 4, and discharges the second compressed air-fuel mixture P2; and a flow rate ratio adjusting portion 17 for adjusting a ratio between a flow rate of the compressed air A1a provided to the merging portion 16 and a flow rate of compressed air A1b provided to the reformer 4.
