Abstract:
A joining method that uses a friction stir welding tool and a fastener and joins an overlapping section that is formed to include a first member on the tool side and a second member disposed on a lower layer of the first member. The joining method includes: a step in which a friction-stir section is formed on the overlapping section by press-fitting the tool into the overlapping section from the first member side and friction-stirring; a step in which a fastener that is smaller than the friction-stir section, when viewed from the press-fitting direction, is used and, by pressing one end side of the fastener, the other end side of the fastener is press-fitted into the friction-stir section from the first member side; and a step in which a head that is larger than the friction-stir section is formed on one end side of the fastener.
