Title:
LAMP FOR VEHICLES
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2015122481
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A lamp for vehicles that uses a light polarizer that two-dimensionally scans excitation light. The lamp for vehicles forms a light intensity distribution having a relatively high light intensity in a partial area (e.g., an area in the vicinity of the center) found by the lamp. The lamp for vehicles is configured so as to form a prescribed light distribution pattern and comprises: a light polarizer that two-dimensionally scans excitation light, is arranged so as to have a first axis included in a vertical plane and a second axis included in a horizontal plane, and comprises an excitation light source, a mirror that reflects the excitation light incident from the excitation light source, a first actuator that reciprocally swings the mirror around the first axis, by resonance drive, and a second actuator that, by non-resonance drive, reciprocally swings the mirror around the second axis orthogonal to the first axis; a wavelength conversion member including a scanning area having a light intensity distribution formed by a two-dimensional image being drawn by the excitation light scanned two-dimensionally by the mirror; a control unit that controls the first actuator by resonance drive and controls the second actuator by non-resonance drive, so as to form a two-dimensional image in the scanning area by using the excitation light scanned two-dimensionally by the mirror; and an optical system that projects the light intensity distribution formed in the scanning area and forms the prescribed light distribution pattern. The lamp for vehicles is characterized by forming a light intensity distribution having a relatively high light intensity in a partial area in the scanning area, as a result of the control unit controlling the second actuator such that the speed of reciprocal swinging of the mirror around the second axis becomes relatively slow while the two-dimensional image is being drawn in the partial area in the scanning area by the excitation light being scanned two-dimensionally by the mirror.
