Abstract:
Disclosed in the present invention are a large field-of-view high-brightness holographic waveguide system based on a multi-layer volume grating, and a preparation method. The system comprises a micro-image source (1), a collimation system (2) and a waveguide unit; the waveguide unit comprises multiple waveguide medium layers (3) and grating composite structures; gratings in the composite structures comprise in-coupling gratings and out-coupling gratings which are located on same sides of the multiple waveguide medium layers and have a certain distance; the collimation system and the micro-image source are provided on a same side of the waveguide unit; two waveguide medium layers in the multiple waveguide medium layers are supported by a spacers (4) therebetween; incident angles under different fields of view are diffracted by means of the cascading of the composite structures composed of waveguide media and the gratings, and all the composite structures are independent of each other to respectively diffract incident angles within a certain range, so that the maximization of the diffraction efficiency is achieved; the advantages such as ultra-large field of view, high brightness, and structural expandability are achieved.
