Abstract:
Provided is a laser handpiece comprising a wavelength conversion member capable of amplification and wavelength conversion into differing wavelengths including laser light output from a laser generation unit. A laser handpiece according to the present invention comprises a tube-like body portion to which is attached a laser light guide body for transmitting laser light from a laser generation unit. Disposed to the body portion are an amplification unit that has a wavelength conversion member for irradiating a procedure site with laser light transmitted by the laser light guide body and a procedure site irradiation unit that is for irradiating the procedure site with Stokes light emitted from the amplification unit. The present invention is characterized in that: the wavelength conversion member has a base material; a wavelength conversion material is added by doping to the base material, such that the wavelength conversion material is disposed in a diffuse manner; and when the laser light is incident the wavelength conversion member, a Raman effect based on the wavelength conversion material occurs in wavelength conversion member, such that Raman scattered light, obtained by wavelength conversion into wavelengths including that of the laser light, is output.
