Abstract:
A transmission fiber 20 comprises a first core 21 and a second core 22. The second core 22 is provided to the outer circumference of the first core 21. In a first step of a laser termination process, a first laser beam L1 is emitted from the second core 22, whereas a second laser beam L2 is emitted from the first core 21. A second step involves gradually lowering the output of the second laser beam L2, while moving, in the laser processing direction, the respective emission positions of the first laser beam L1 and the second laser beam L2 with respect to a workpiece W. A third step involves halting the output of the second laser beam L2 in a state where the first laser beam L1 is emitted from the second core 22.
