Abstract:
Provided are: latex particles for an agglutination assay which enable a high-sensitivity assay while highly suppressing non-specific reactions and which make it possible to prepare a diagnostic drug easily; and an assay reagent for an agglutination assay, using said particles. Latex particles for an agglutination assay which comprise a polymerizable monomer having a phenyl group, a polymerizable monomer having a phenyl group and a sulfonic acid salt group, and a polymerizable monomer having general formula (1) as constituents and in which the density of the polymerizable monomer having formula (1) on the surface of the particles (namely, functional-group density) is 0.05 to 0.5μmol/m2.
