Abstract:
Disclosed are a laundry dryer and a control method thereof. The laundry dryer is provided with a steam generator (8), and a steam outlet of the steam generator (8) is in communication with an outer drum (1) and with a sprayer (15) disposed above an evaporator (7) respectively via a pipeline, such that steam can flow to the outer drum (1) and/or the evaporator (7) in a controllable manner. At the beginning of the operation of the laundry dryer, all of the steam generated by the steam generator (8) flows to the evaporator (7) of the laundry dryer and transfers heat to the evaporator (7), so that the evaporator (7) is heated and then releases the heat via a condenser (4) under the action of a compressor (5), thereby increasing the overall operation efficiency of a heat pump system and thus the rate of temperature increase in the laundry dryer. During the normal steam treatment of laundry by the laundry dryer, unvaporized water automatically flows into the sprayer (15) disposed above the evaporator (7) under the action of gravity, so as to be sprayed to the evaporator (7) and remove lints attached to the evaporator (7) and to sterilize the evaporator (7) and surrounding parts of same. Moreover, the laundry dryer is simple in structure, has a significant effect and is suitable for widespread use.
