Abstract:
A lead-free glass composition which comprises, as glass components, 35 to 45 mole % of P2O5, 45 to 55 mole % of ZnO, and 5 to 15 mole % of one or more of alkaline metal oxides selected from the group consisting of CaO, SrO and BaO; a lead-free glass powder prepared from the glass composition; a ceramic powder which can be uniformly mixed with the lead-free glass powder; a lead-free barrier rib (14) which is prepared from the above glass powder and ceramic powder both having a particle surface bearing a positive charge, and has a porosity of 5 % or less; and a PDP using the barrier rib. The above glass composition allows the production of a glass which is lead-free, can be worked at a temperature lower than 550&ring C, has a desired thermal expansion coefficient, and exhibits high water resistance. The barrier rib and the PDP exhibits desired values of the reflection coefficient for a visible light, mechanical strength and thermal expansion coefficient.
