Abstract:
The present invention provides active assistance to a rider of a leaning vehicle so that the active assistance matches the senses of the rider. An oblique lateral inter-vehicle distance detection unit (21) of a leaning vehicle (1) detects oblique lateral inter-vehicle distance (DO) which is the distance between the leaning vehicle (1) and an oblique lateral vehicle (102). An active driving assistance control unit (60) of the leaning vehicle (1) controls an acceleration control device (22) and actively assists the rider according to the oblique lateral inter-vehicle distance (DO) so that the jerk in the travel direction is smaller than the maximum jerk generated by an acceleration control device, but greater than the minimum value. The active driving assistance control unit (60) also controls the acceleration control device (22) so that the relationship between speed and elapsed time becomes nonlinear in the initial stage of changing speed.
