Abstract:
A vehicle-to-vehicle distance adjustment device (6) of a leaning vehicle (1) can automatically reduce and increase vehicle speed without an operation by the rider, and this device adjusts a vehicle-to-vehicle distance, which is the distance in the vehicle longitudinal direction between the host vehicle and a preceding vehicle (PV) detected by a preceding vehicle detection device (5), by automatically changing the vehicle speed on the basis of the vehicle-to-vehicle distance. After the vehicle-to-vehicle distance adjustment device (6) has, in a first case, performed a vehicle-to-vehicle distance adjustment advance notification notifying the rider that the vehicle speed may change due to the vehicle-to-vehicle distance being adjusted, the device automatically changes the vehicle speed by generating a positive or negative driving force without generating braking force in order to adjust the vehicle-to-vehicle distance. In a second case, the vehicle-to-vehicle distance adjustment device (6) automatically changes the vehicle speed in order to adjust the vehicle-to-vehicle distance without performing a vehicle-to-vehicle distance adjustment advance notification in advance.
