Provided are: a lens with a water repellent anti-reflection film, wherein a water repellent film has improved adhesion and durability; and a method for producing this lens with a water repellent anti-reflection film. A lens with a water repellent anti-reflection film according to the present invention is characterized in that: at least a water repellent anti-reflection film, wherein a base film and a water repellent film are sequentially laminated in this order, is arranged on the surface of a glass lens; the base film is a single layer of one substance selected from among SiO2, ZrO2, Al2O3, TiO2, Ti3O5, Ta2O5 and Nb2O5 or a mixed layer containing two or more of these substances; the base film has a denseness of from 70% to 100% (inclusive) and a film thickness of from 1 nm to 200 nm (inclusive); and the water repellent film is formed on the surface of the base film from an organic compound containing a perfluoropolyether group, and has a film thickness of from 5 nm to 50 nm (inclusive).
