Abstract:

A library device housing different types of recorded media such as magnetic tape. A reader for reading the label on which the type of a recorded medium and the volume label are recorded is moved to read the label. By such a method and the structure for housing different types of recorded media classified according to the type, the labels can be read at high speed.
