Abstract:
The present invention relates to a light absorption layer for forming a photoelectric conversion element and an intermediate band-type solar cell which have a high quantum yield of two-stage light absorption, and a photoelectric conversion element and an intermediate band-type solar cell which include the light absorption layer. The present invention also relates to a method for manufacturing a light absorption layer having an intermediate band, using a wet process with which a significant cost reduction and an expansion of flexible substrate applications, for example, can be expected. The light absorption layer of the present invention includes a dispersion of quantum dots in a matrix of a bulk semiconductor having a band gap energy of not less than 2.0 eV and not more than 3.0 eV, and has an intermediate band.
