Abstract:
Provided are display devices which form a multi-monitor system, each display device being provided with: a magnification processing unit (303) which converts a video signal from a video source to a video signal for an extended image enlarged to a size corresponding to an extended screen, and outputs a video signal of a partial image of the extended image for display on a liquid crystal panel (301), the partial image corresponding to a location where the screen of the liquid crystal panel (301) is arranged in the extended screen; a video analysis unit (304) for acquiring prescribed video characteristics of the video signal from the video source by analyzing the video signal from the video source prior to conversion to the video signal for the extended image using the magnification processing unit; and a light control unit (305) for controlling a backlight (302) to emit light with adjusted brightness in accordance with a light adjustment value set on the basis of the video characteristics.
