Abstract:
This technology relates to a light reception/emission device with which a compact configuration can be used to both perform imaging of an image, and irradiate a desired position with light. A light reception/emission device is provided with: a plurality of pixels which receive light and perform photoelectric conversion in which an electrical signal corresponding to the quantity of the light is outputted; and a plurality of light emission units which emit light. At least two of the light emission units are provided per every two or more pixels. In an image-formation optical system, an image is formed upon the pixels of the light reception/emission device. The light emission of each of the plurality of light emission units is independently controlled. This technology is applicable to communication systems which perform optical communication, and medical endoscopic systems which perform scans.
