Abstract:
Provided is a light emitting device having high heat resistance in a manufacturing process. Provided is a light emitting device wherein a second electrode is provided on a first electrode with an EL layer interposed therebetween, the EL layer includes at least a light emitting layer, a first electron transport layer, and a second electron transport layer, the first electron transport layer is provided on the light emitting layer, an insulating layer is provided so as to abut a side face of the light emitting layer and a side face of the first electron transport layer, the second electron transport layer is provided on the first electron transport layer, the insulating layer is located between the side faces of the light emitting layer and the first electron transport layer and the second electron transport layer, and the first electron transport layer contains a heteroaromatic compound having at least one heteroaromatic ring and an organic compound that is different from the heteroaromatic compound.
