Abstract:
The present invention comprises a first transparent electrode, a second transparent electrode, a liquid crystal layer that is between the first transparent electrode and the second transparent electrode, and a plurality of spacers that are inside the liquid crystal layer. The spacers are 3–50 μm in size. The size distribution of the spacers has at least two discrete peaks. The size distribution includes a first peak and a second peak. The mode of the sizes at the first peak is the highest among all of the peaks and is 8–50 μm. The mode of the sizes at the second peak is the next highest among all of the peaks after the first peak and is 3–7 μm.
