Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a technology which is capable of appropriately adjusting modulation timing. When the modulation timing is adjusted, a data generation unit respectively generates, as a first data signal and a second data signal, a first test data signal and a second test data signal which each include, in a data sequence, a test pattern in which a plurality of consecutive marks and a plurality of consecutive spaces are alternately repeated. Furthermore, a phase adjustment unit adjusts the phase difference to 0 or π, and a timing adjustment unit subsequently adjusts the modulation timing on the basis of the intensity detected by a light intensity detector.
