Title:
LIGHT-TRANSMITTING CERAMIC, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, OPTICAL COMPONENT AND OPTICAL DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/122985
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is a light-transmitting ceramic mainly composed of a perovskite compound, which has no birefringence and exhibits high refractive index and high transmittance. In addition, the light-transmitting ceramic has high flexural strength and diffuses only a little light. Specifically disclosed is a light-transmitting ceramic which contains a perovskite compound represented by the following general formula: Ba(ZrxMgyTaz)vOw (wherein 0.100 ≤ x ≤ 0.700, 1.83 - 0.333x ≤ z/y ≤ 2.17 + 0.333x, x + y + z = 1, 1.000 ≤ v ≤ 1.047 + 0.0333x, and w represents a positive number required for neutralizing the electrical charge) as a main crystal phase. For example, this light-transmitting ceramic can be advantageously used as an objective lens (2) of an optical pickup (9).
