Title:
LIGHTING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/145238
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The disclosed lighting device is provided with a light-emitting device and a diffusion member. The light-emitting device has: a plurality of light-emitting elements that emit light with a peak wavelength between 380 and 420 nm; first phosphors that emit visible light with a peak wavelength between 560 and 600 nm; second phosphors that are excited by ultraviolet light or short-wavelength visible light and emit visible light of a color complementary to the color of the light emitted by the first phosphors; and a light-transmitting member that covers the plurality of light-emitting elements. The first phosphors and the second phosphors are distributed inside the light-transmitting member, constituting a total of between 0.01% and 10% of the volume of the light-transmitting member. The diffusion member diffuses at least some of the light emitted from the light-emitting device. The light-transmitting member is shaped such that the thickness thereof in the direction perpendicular to the light-emission plane of the light-emitting elements is between 0.4 and 20 mm.
