Abstract:

Disclosed is a position estimation device (10) comprising a feature amount extraction unit (11) which extracts an unchanging feature amount from an input image; a matching (13) which refers to a common dictionary (12) wherein registration locations and corresponding unchanging feature amounts are stored, to obtain matching between the input image and the registration location; a similarity calculation unit (14) which calculates similarity by including a registration location near the selected registration location when the matching is equal to or more than a predetermined threshold value; and a position approval unit (15) which approves the input image as the registration location when the similarity is equal to or more than a predetermined threshold value, the input image is the registration location. The feature amount extraction unit extracts a local feature amount from each of the input images comprised of continuously photographed continuous images, determines that the feature amount matched between continuous images is a continuous feature amount, and obtains an unchanging feature amount on the basis of the continuous feature amount. The number of continuous images is variable in accordance with the number of matched feature amounts.
