Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an LED lighting device suited to a direct current power source.
[Solution] The lighting device comprises: a capacitor circuit having at least one capacitor; a switching circuit for supplying a current that varies periodically on the basis of a power source voltage; an LED circuit having a plurality of LED elements connected in series; and a control circuit controlling the conduction and interruption operations of the switching circuit.
The switching circuit periodically repeats the conduction and interruption operations on the basis of a control signal from the control circuit in order to cause the current that varies periodically to be supplied to the LED circuit and the capacitor circuit. The LED circuit emits light on the basis of the current supplied from the switching circuit. In at least the interruption state of the switching circuit, the capacitor circuit accumulates electrical charges on the basis of the supplied current that varies periodically, causing current for the purpose of light-emission to be supplied from the capacitor circuit to the LED circuit.
