Abstract:
A multilayered polyester container which has a multilayer structure comprising inner and outer layers constituted of a polyester resin and at least one interlayer constituted of a barrier resin. The interlayer comprises a barrier resin, a polyester resin, and clay, the barrier resin and the polyester resin being contained in a weight ratio of from 2.5:7.5 to 5:5, and has a sea-island structure which comprises a continuous phase constituted of the polyester resin and a dispersed phase formed therein constituted of the barrier resin. Due to this structure, the container can have a reduced thickness and a reduced weight. Even when packed with a carbonated beverage or the like which itself has a pressure, the container can be effectively prevented from suffering interlaminar separation or deforming upon opening.
