Abstract:
A liquid crystal aligning agent which contains component (A) and component (B).
Component (A): At least one polymer which is selected from the group consisting of polyimide precursors having at least one structure selected from the group consisting of formula [1A] and formula [1B] and polyimides obtained by imidizing the polyimide precursors.
(In the formulae, each of XA and XC independently represents a protecting group which is replaced by a hydrogen atom by means of heat; and XB represents a single bond or an organic group having 1-40 carbon atoms, wherein an ester group (-COO- group) is bonded to a carbon atom.)
Component (B): A polyamic acid which is obtained from a tetracarboxylic acid component containing a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride represented by formula (B-1) and a diamine component containing a diamine represented by formula (B-2).
(In the formulae, Y1 represents a divalent organic group having at least one structure selected from the group consisting of an amino group, an imino group and a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring; and each of B1 and B2 independently represents a hydrogen atom, an optionally substituted alkyl group having 1-10 carbon atoms, or the like.)
