Abstract:
This liquid crystal cell is provided with: a TFT substrate having a first dielectric substrate, and a plurality of TFTs supported on the first dielectric substrate and a plurality of patch electrodes electrically connected to the TFTs; a slot substrate having a second dielectric substrate, and a slot electrode including a plurality of slots supported on the second dielectric substrate; a liquid crystal layer interposed between the TFT substrate for which the patch electrode side and the slot electrode side are arranged facing mutually opposite, and the slot substrate; a plurality of antenna units each of which has one of the patch electrodes, and the slot electrode including at least one slot arranged in a form corresponding to that one patch electrode; and an alignment film of relative dielectric constant 3.8 or greater, formed on the surface of the liquid crystal layer side of both the TFT substrate and the slot substrate, the film comprising a polyimide-based resin.
