Abstract:
A liquid crystal composition containing one or more types of compound represented by general formula (i), and one or more types of compound represented by general formula (ii). In the formulas: R11a, R21a and R22a each independently represent a C1-8 alkyl group; one -CH2- or two or more non-adjacent -CH2- in the alkyl group may each be independently substituted for -CH=CH-, -C≡C-, -O-, -CO-, -COO-, or -OCO-; one or more hydrogen atoms in the alkyl group may be substituted for a fluorine atom or a chlorine atom; and X11a, X12a, X13a and X14a each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a fluorine atom.
