Abstract:
The present invention provides: a liquid crystal composition that has high ∆n (refractive index anisotropy) and ∆ε (dielectric constant anisotropy), a liquid crystal phase in a wide temperature range, and favorable room temperature stability; and a liquid crystal display element, a sensor, a liquid crystal lens, optical communication equipment, and an antenna using the same. Specifically, this liquid crystal composition contains: one or more compounds represented by general formula (i) and having -C≡C-; and one or more compounds represented by general formula (ii) and having an isothiocyanate group (-NCS).
