The purpose of the present invention is to provide a liquid crystal display device capable of preventing a liquid crystal display panel from being adversely affected by static electricity with which a front-surface panel is charged. This liquid crystal display device includes a facing member (1), a front surface panel (2) provided behind the facing member (1), the liquid crystal display panel, in which a display unit is formed by a transparent electrode being provided on an inner surface of each of a pair of liquid-crystal-sealing insulation substrates (3A, 3B) provided behind the front surface panel (2), and a flexible printed circuit board (31) energizingly connected to the liquid crystal display panel with a prescribed connecting member interposed therebetween. The flexible printed circuit board (31) has a branch piece (311) that is not energizingly connected to the liquid crystal display panel, the branch piece (311) abutting the front-surface panel (2).
