Abstract:
A liquid crystal display comprises an illuminating unit for illuminating a liquid crystal
panel unit and an illumination control unit capable of regulating the luminance
of the illuminating unit by performing pulse-driving of the illuminating unit
by alternating a bright state and a dark state of the luminance of the illuminating unit,
substantially uniforming the average luminance of the illuminating unit, and
decreasing the luminance difference between the luminance in the bright state
of the illuminating unit and that in the dark state of when a still image is displayed
on the liquid crystal display panel unit comparing to that of when a dynamic image
is displayed on the liquid crystal display panel unit. With this, the moving image
blur is solved and the power consumption is reduced.
