Abstract:
A liquid crystal monitor with which the viewer views images by wearing three-dimensional glasses comprising a phase difference plate for left eye use and a phase difference plate for right eye use, which enables the viewer to view three-dimensional images. The liquid crystal monitor is equipped with: a liquid crystal panel wherein pixels are arranged in the form of a matrix, with each pixel comprising multiple sub-pixels; and a patterning phase difference plate which has two different polarization characteristics corresponding to the arrangement of the sub-pixels, and for which first polarization units, which converts incident light to polarized light that passes through the phase difference plate for left eye use, and second polarization units, which converts incident light to polarized light that passes through the phase difference plate for right eye use, are alternately provided.
