Abstract:
A liquid detergent detection device comprises a light emitting element and a light receiving element. When liquid detergent is present inside a transparent tube, diffused light emitted onto the transparent tube is refracted and focused, and the light receiving element receives the focused light. When liquid detergent is absent inside the transparent tube, the diffused light emitted onto the transparent tube continues to diffuse even after passing through the transparent tube, and the light receiving element receives a portion of the light that has passed through the transparent tube. A control unit of the liquid detergent detection device detects the presence of the liquid detergent inside the transparent tube when the output from the light receiving element is higher than a first threshold, and detects the absence of the liquid detergent inside the transparent tube when the output from the light receiving element is lower than the first threshold.
