Abstract:
A liquid jet head comprising a liquid channel, an ejection opening forming member constituting a part of the wall of the liquid channel and having an opening for ejecting liquid as droplets, and a heating element located oppositely to the ejection opening in the wall of the liquid channel and generating bubbles by applying heat to the liquid, wherein the ejection opening is provided with a throttle at such a position as forming a concave to ward the plane in which the ejection opening in the ejection opening forming member opens, the liquid is held in the ejection opening while forming a meniscus such that the throttle is located in the liquid, and a relation So≤Sh is satisfied between the opening area So of the throttle and the surface area Sh of the heating element. Central part of the meniscus in the ejection opening corresponding to a thin hole swells to eject liquid drop lets. Since the liquid in the concave part for opening the ejection opening is not ejected entirely, an extremely small liquid drop lets can be ejected.
