Abstract:
Provided is a lithium-ion battery not only having a separator prevented from being holed after charging and discharging cycles but also being excellent in initial charging and discharging efficiency, rate characteristics, and cycle characteristics, and also provided is a lithium-ion battery separator used in the lithium-ion battery. According to one aspect of the present invention, a separator used in the lithium-ion battery has a uniform lithium metal film provided on one surface of a separator substrate mainly consisting of polyolefin. A porous heat-resistant layer may be formed on the other surface of this separator substrate, and the lithium metal film is disposed on the side facing the negative electrode.
