Abstract:

The embodiments of the present application provide a load balancing method and device, relating to the field of communications, and capable of performing effective load balancing in a distributed CDN scenario. The method comprises: a terminal device sending a first request message to a load balancing device, the first request message being used to request data to be transmitted and an IP address of a CDN server; the terminal device receiving a first response message sent by the CDN server, the first response message comprising the length of the data to be transmitted and the IP address of the CDN server, and a source IP address of the first response message being an IP address of the load balancing device; and if the terminal device determines that the length of the data to be transmitted is greater than or equal to a predetermined threshold, the terminal device establishing a connection with the CDN server according to the IP address of the CDN server. The embodiments of the present application are applied to distributed CDN load balancing scenarios.
