Abstract:
Embodiments of the present application provide a location registration method and terminal device; when a cell broadcasts a plurality of TACs, by means of comparing among the plurality of TACs and terminal device registration locations, the initiation of the location registration process is minimized, reducing signaling overhead. The location registration method comprises: a terminal device obtaining a TAC list of a target cell; according to said TAC list of said target cell and a TAC list registered by said terminal device, the terminal device determining whether to initiate a location registration process.
