A method for communication between terminals, and a terminal device and a network device, by means of which communication between terminals can be realized. The method comprises: a first terminal receiving first information sent by a second terminal, wherein the first information contains identity information of the second terminal; the first terminal sending the first information to a first network device, wherein the first network device is a network device of a cell in which the first terminal resides; the first terminal receiving a switching command sent by the first network device, wherein the switching command is used for instructing the first terminal to switch a relay connection of the first terminal; and the first terminal establishing a connection with the second terminal on the basis of the switching command.
