Disclosed is a lock device (5), which is used for a door (9B) that is switched between being closed and being open with respect to an open part in the side of a main body and that is always energized in the opening direction, and said device has a lock member (2) that engages with or disengages from a receiving part (55a) toward the open part when the door is closed. The device is equipped with a case (1) that is provided on the door and supports the lock member (2) in a vertically movable manner, an attraction means composed of a magnet (M1) and a magnetic body (56) that are provided corresponding to said lock member and the open part and that move the lock member to enable engagement with the receiving part (55a), and control means (3 and 4) that control movement by the lock member (2) through the attraction means. The door is pushed from the opening direction to the closing direction against the energizing force, the lock member (2) projects to engage with the receiving part (55a) through the control means and the attraction means, and the door is held closed. When the door is further pushed in the closing direction, said engagement is released, and the disengaged state is maintained through said control means to switch to the opening direction. Thus, a lock device with high strength and outstanding operability and appearance can be provided.
