Abstract:
Disclosed is a lubricant composition which contains a lubricant base oil and a dialkyl monothiophosphate metal salt. The dialkyl monothiophosphate metal salt is contained in an amount of 0.005-0.12% by mass in terms of phosphorus element based on the total amount of the lubricant composition, and the alkyl group of the dialkyl monothiophosphate metal salt is a liner alkyl group. Consequently, the lubricant composition exhibits excellent friction reducing properties and can be reduced in sulfur, while maintaining the friction preventing properties of oils into which only Zn DTP is added.
